Buyers of the 4Runner have a choice of a front-wheel drive system or a traction-enhancing four-wheel drive system. Also, the 4Runner offers various off-road-focused models, including the TRD Pro, TRD Off-Road, and TRD Off-Road Premium.
To mark 40 years of adventures, Toyota will offer a limited-availability 2023 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition model, which is based on the SR5 Premium grade. The 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition stands out with its retro-inspired yellow/orange/red body graphics. Also, it features “bronze-colored 17-inch alloy wheels, a body-color-matching TOYOTA heritage grille, and a bronze-colored 40th Anniversary exterior tailgate badge.”
Inside the cabin, the 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition has unique badging on the center console, bronze-colored seat stitching, 40th Anniversary floor mats, a bronze-colored cross-stitch shift knob, and a 40th Anniversary logo on the Black SofTex-trimmed seats. Also, the limited-edition SUV has a standard power moonroof.
Exterior paint color options for the 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition include Midnight Black Metallic, White, and Barcelona Red Metallic. As a nod to the 40-year milestone, Toyota will sell only 4,040 units of the 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition.
