The German tuning company applied its expertise to the BMW M135i xDrive, upgrading it to an aggressive-looking pocket rocket.
The BMW M135i xDrive takes prides as the performance range-topper of the latest generation (F40) of the BMW 1 Series.
The hot hatch distinguishes itself from the rest of its BMW siblings with all-wheel drive capability and superior power. For those who wanted a BMW hatch hotter than the M135i xDrive, here is the new Manhart MH1 350.
BMW endowed the M135i xDrive with a 2.0 liter four-cylinder twin power turbo engine (B48A20T1) with variable valve timing and high-precision injection. The German carmaker tuned this mill to deliver 302 hp of max output and 332 lb-ft of peak torque. Unlike its front-wheel drive siblings, the M135i xDrive has its power sent to all wheels. Performance-wise, the M135i xDrive can zoom from nil to 62 mph in just 4.8 seconds.

Manhart, which has extensive expertise in tuning BMW’s hot models, is offering greater levels of power with the MH1 350. The German tuning firm enhanced the power levels of the M135i xDrive’s turbo engine by installing a Manhart carbon intake by Armaspeed, as well as a Manhart MHtronik auxiliary control unit. With this new setup, the turbo engine in the MH1 350 can provide 350 hp of max output and 386 lb-ft of peak torque.
Manhart did not only boost the power of the MH1 350, but also augmented its audio track. The German tuning firm achieved this by installing four matt black 90 mm tailpipes, which links the Manhart Sport downpipe to a 300-cell HJS catalytic converter.
This new setup allows the MH1 350 to deliver a loud roar that is music to the ears. However, the Manhart Sport downpipe is not TÜV approved, which means it is only meant for export.

The quad exhaust helps the MH1 350 don a more menacing look, in addition to other aggressive add-on elements from Maxton Design, including a new front spoiler, a rear diffuser, a roof spoiler and side skirts.
Moreover, responsible for the MH1 350’s more aggressive appearance are Manhart GTS Style wheels in cross-spoke design, and shod with 235/30ZR20 tires. The pictured example rides on 8.5×20-inch wheels in “Diamond Polished” finish, which matches the Manhart decor set in silver and red. Individual surface variants are also available.
The MH1 350 sits on Manhart lowering springs from H&R, bringing the hot hatch lower to the ground by around 1.1 inches. Manhart also offers other elements such as brakes upgrade and high-quality Manhart floor mats.
