After years of teasing an "upcoming concept", Cadillac has finally introduced the Celestiq show car. Let's find out how sumptuous is its interior.
Luxury electric vehicles have been the most trending topic in 2022, and it goes on and on. All major carmakers now have their luxury divisions. Luxury cars offer buyers a long list of amenities to enhance the buyer’s premium experience. However, since EVs will soon replace ICE-powered vehicles, businesses are keen on offering buyers luxury EVs.
While companies such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin, and a few other European brands enjoy a strong status in the market because of their ultra-luxury vehicles, Cadillac (the luxury division of General Motors) is set to prove its mettle. Last month, Cadillac introduced its Lyriq in response to the growing trend of luxury electric vehicles and to boost its lost glory in the market, and now they have come up with the Celestiq.
After years of anticipation and numerous teasers, Cadillac has finally unveiled the "2025 Celestiq show car" on July 22, 2022. While we already had a brief idea of the Celestiq’s interior through the images shared by General Motors, we were restless to find out more about it. Fortunately, Cadillac has provided us with more glimpses of the Celestiq’s interior after its launch on July 22nd, and no wonder, we are astounded by how beautiful it looks.
Although we are unaware of Celestiq’s pricing and launch date, we guess its price will be around $250,000 to $280,000, and it will arrive in 2025. Hence, it will compete with the Lucid Air, Mercedes-Benz EQS, and Rolls-Royce Spectre EV.

Cadillac certainly isn’t the earliest to offer an ultra-luxury EV on the market, but they have sweetly compensated for its late arrival with the Celestiq concept. It is not only ultra-modern and sleek from the outside, but also offers a beautifully crafted cabin. According to Magalie Debellis, Manager of Cadillac Advanced Design, "The Celestiq show car is the purest expression of Cadillac, it brings to life the most integrated expressions of design and innovation in the brand’s history, coalescing in a defining statement of a true Cadillac flagship". This bold statement seems to be significant once you look at its cabin.
Cadillac's designers have cut no corners while designing the cabin, and they put their years of knowledge and experience into designing the cabin. As a result, the Celestiq’s cabin looks remarkable and premium from every perspective. According to Cadillac, their designers have been heavily inspired by Eero Saarinen and his mid-century masterpieces. Furthermore, designers have also taken inspiration from the 1957 Eldorado Brougham. This combination blends elements of heritage and modern design languages, making the cabin look magnificent and timeless.

Cadillac has made sure to offer Celestiq buyers the utmost levels of comfort. To achieve this, they have outfitted the cabin with one of the best seats available on the market. The color red has often been associated with royalty, comfort, and status. That said, designers have adorned Celestiq’s cabin with red-colored materials. The dashboard, door panels, seats, as well as floor mats, are all swathed in red, making it feel and look sophisticated and delivering a warm touch. In addition, the cabin will come embellished with perforated aluminum trim, which will not only hide the speaker and climate control vents from your sight but will also offer an upscale look.
The cabin offers seats for four people, and the seats are some of the best in the segment in terms of comfort, space, and features. They are covered with perforated red leather and stuffed with sufficient padding for comfort. Although we don’t know how much space and features they provide, we anticipate the seats to offer ample space both at the front and rear. Regarding features, we expect the seats to have at least 12 levels of power adjustability as well as heating and cooling functions. Memory and massage functions, extended thigh support, lumbar support, and a heated front armrest may also be included. The rear seats will provide sufficient space and features like power-recline function, heating, and cooling function, as well as heated armrests.
As is typical of luxury cars, the Celestiq’s cabin will feature special materials to offer a sophisticated vibe to the passengers. Speaking of design first, the dashboard looks futuristic with two display designs. The dashboard is dominated by a 55-inch advanced interactive LED panel which houses a fully-digital instrument cluster at the driver’s side, a main central touchscreen for multimedia, and a separate display at the front passenger side. Besides this, the lower part of the dashboard features another touchscreen that will supposedly house the car’s controls, such as driving modes, battery life, and other vital information. Additionally, the 55-inch LED panel will come equipped with a digital blind designed to provide privacy for the passengers.
Furthermore, Cadillac has also outfitted the cabin with a smart glass roof with four zones of variable lighting setup. This will allow occupants to personalize the amount of light entering the cabin according to their preferences. For entertainment, Cadillac has also equipped the rear seats with a separate infotainment system. The rear seats will feature a pair of 12.6-inch touchscreens along with HDMI and USB ports and a pair of Bluetooth headphones. In addition, the cabin will come equipped with the same AKG 36-speaker premium audio system found in the Escalade.
Cadillac’s proposed flagship will certainly be a promising luxury electric sedan in the market. It will provide customers with plenty of niceties and vast customization options. Furthermore, GM will invest $81 million to build a Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, where the Cadillac Celestiq will be manufactured. Besides, Cadillac will produce and sell a limited number of Celestiqs to maintain its exclusivity.
